Professor Christiana E.E. OKOJIE
Renowned academics, Researcher, Author, Economist. She holds Bachelors degree in Economics from the renowned University of Ibadan(1969);an MA DEGREE IN economic Development from the University of Leeds, England(1972);and a Ph.D in economics also form the University of Ibadan, Nigeria(1981). Professor Christiana Okojie has won many research awards from various international organizations such as ford Foundation, Rockfeller Foundation, Population Council, World Health Organization, African Academy of Sciences and African Economic Research Consortium. She is widely travelled and has attended over fifty- (50) international conferences and workshops to present papers. She has published in national and international journals and books. Her area of specialization is Development and Population Economics, with

special interest in Gender and development. She has conducted extensive research on gender and education, gender and poverty, gender and family planning, gender and labour force participation, gender budgeting, gender mainstreaming, and more recently on human trafficking. In the last eight (8) years, she has served as consultant to a number of international agencies such as the International Labour Organization (ILO). African Development Bank (ADB), UNIFEM, UNDP, UNICEF, UN-HABITAT, UNICRI and UNODC. She has been a professor of Economics since 1995 and has been in the University of Benin, Nigeria, Department of Economics and Statistics sins 1975. She is a leading voice in the field of Poverty eradication and Gender empowerment.
