Roses on the table

Giving off their scent.

A teapot ready to be poured

A tradition that cannot be ignored.

Muffins, scones, éclairs for choice

Blow the calories just this once.

Bone china cup and Early Grey tea

Or even PG Tip to make our day.

Sitting beneath the apple tree

Table lay with cloth of blue

So peaceful here, so very me and you

Better set another place

May have a visitor, just in case

I hope it doesn’t rain

Just to spoil it all!

But rain could not wash away

The feeling of all this

An occasion we could not miss.

Sit back and close your eyes

We are very near to paradise
