Drunken nights and Monday mornings
Bargain booze and written warning!
Balding tyres and no tax disc
Kiss don’t tell we will take a risk
Autumn’s dusk and summer’s dawn
Footprints on the dewy lane
Dodging every postman’s knock
Watching, watching every clock.
Missing minutes stolen glances
Silent stares and clod advances
There’s a life and love we could maybe share
Don’t you know or don’t you care?
There’s more to life than pubs and bars
Takeaway food and second hand cars
There’s a world outside this tiny town
There are a thousand colours, not just brown
There are roads that lead to different places
There are other trees that else where grow
You can climb them, believe me I know.
